Enhanced storage device vista

It sets up a dual boot without any fuss. I haven't yet tried installing XP Pro with 7 already in place. This member used to have another name, and the name that this member used to have was fistful.

I'm running 7 Ult now. Upgraded last month. Found out some of my programs won't work correctly. Not even in XP mode. Tried to install XP. Install went fine. Except no option to dual boot. I can boot XP from CD, just not from the install. SMF 2. Choose Manage. Choose Device Manager. Here is the relevant graphic for Vista's Device Manager: Click to expand image. A new window will open showing properties; click the Reinstall Driver button. Then click "Browse my computer for driver software".

Click Browse. Make sure the "Include subfolders" box is checked. Click Next. This should load the drivers. Double-click on the Device Manager. Once it has disappeared from the Device Manager, disconnect the external hard drive.

Disconnect the device from the computer unplug the USB cable. Select Properties. Click the Security tab. Click the Edit button. Reboot and reconnect the drive. The file should be rebuilt, correcting the problem.

Any more feedback? The more you tell us the more we can help. Can you help us improve? Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen.

Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures.
